Although Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate love, it also seems to have become a way to get revenge on a pesky ex.
You wonder how? Well, you can take part in the “Name a cockroach” program.
The initiative was launched by a zoo in the south-east of England. It’s giving scorned lovers a chance to name a cockroach after their troublesome former lover.

The Hemsley Conservation Center at Fairseat is home to a colony of around 12 adult Madagascar hissing cockroaches and a few hundred of their babies.
They can be “nominated” for a donation of £1.50 (2.00 USD). This initiative will help fund conservation projects at the zoo.

Donors will receive a certificate and may also have the option of adding a personalized message. The name chosen by them will appear on a “Roach Board”, which will be unveiled on Valentine’s Day.
“If you’ve had a particularly nasty breakup and you need someone to pick me up, this is a great way to have a little giggle alone or with your friends, but also if you wanted to name it after yourself. ‘a politician maybe this year so you’re more than welcome, all names are welcome,’ Hemsley Conservation Center chief operating officer Henry Weedon told Reuters on Thursday.
