The Santa Cruz Port Commission has announced the appointment of Holland MacLaurie as the new port manager, effective November 1.
MacLaurie worked for the Port District for 13 years and has experience in budget administration, infrastructure maintenance, regulatory compliance and staff development, according to a press release announcing the appointment. In his new roles, MacLaurie will lead the district and oversee all port operations, including developing the district’s $ 9.7 million annual budget and planning for infrastructure maintenance and improvements.
MacLaurie was previously Director of Port District Administrative Services since 2017. She was appointed Acting Port Director in August when former Director Marian Olin retired.
“Ms. MacLaurie brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Harbor District,” said Toby Goddard, Harbor Commission Chairman in a prepared statement. “She has worked successfully with a wide range of regulators, from tenants and port users, and has experience in district finance and personnel matters. ”
Volunteer bank employees
Santa Cruz County Bank employees volunteered for the development of the Habitat for Humanity Rodeo Creek Court in Monterey Bay on October 30.
Volunteers included Krista Snelling, Mary Anne Carson, Doug Fischer, Marshall Delk, Sue Chandler, Shawn Lipman, John Mizell, Penny Leonard, Joshua Morris, Chris Benkert and Lisa Krigsman. The volunteers worked with Habitat’s partner family under the direction of construction foremen Keaton Port Gaarn and Dylan Childs, and construction worker Sal Dibiasi.
