Hyderabad: Taking a sarcastic mockery of the Bharatiya Janatha Party over instances where the party announced developments long before authorized agencies did, Industry Minister and TRS Chairman KT Rama Rao suggested that the BJP should rename itself to “BJ..EC-CBI-NIA-IT-ED..P”.
The minister’s tweet came in the wake of the BJP leadership ordering its party cadres in Telangana to prepare for the indirect vote in Munugode constituency by November. This was before an official announcement was made by the Election Commission on the notification of the elections in the constituency, with the BJP leadership also informing its cadres here that a notification would be announced before October 15.
Sharing an image from a news report on the same subject, Rama Rao tweeted on Sunday, “Before ‘EC’ BJP announces the polling dates Before ‘ED’ BJP announces The Names! Before “NIA” BJP announces the ban! Before “IT” BJP announces The Amount! Before “CBI” BJP announces the Accused! Appropriately, BJP should rename itself to BJ BJ.. EC-CBI-NIA-IT-ED..P”
In a separate tweet, the minister also criticized central agencies acting as vehicles for false propaganda and fake news spread by the BJP, targeting Telangana.
“It’s a shame that government ministries of the union like GDP and Jal Jeevan Mission have become super spreaders of fake news and fake propaganda,” he tweeted, sharing the tweet from Telangana Digital Media Director Konatham Dileep as part of the controversy over the national Jal Shakthi Ministry Syndicate award for Mission Bhagiratha.
The Ministry’s Jal Jeevan mission had informed the Telangana government that it was awarded for its performance in providing regular piped water supply to rural households under the ‘Regulatory’ category.
However, an informal GDP statement quoting the Union Ministry was shared with some media outlets on Saturday saying the price was not for Mission Bhagiratha, when in fact the tap water supply mentioned in the price belongs to the Mission.
