Brendan Cole has discussed his decision to show his nine-year-old daughter Aurelia on social media for the first time after previously keeping her identity private.

The former Strictly Professioanl surprised fans on Saturday when he made the decision to show his daughter Aurelia’s face for the first time on his Instagram page.

The 45-year-old, who shares Aurelia and three-year-old son Dante with wife Zoe Hobbs, posted a cute video and admitted now is the time to let his daughter ‘make her own decisions’ on social media social.

In the clip, the pair can be seen dancing to singer Stella Jang’s Colors, as the image changes from blue to red to green in time with the lyrics.

The pair are clearly having fun and later a cheeky Brendan playfully covers his daughter’s face with his hood.

Captioning the sweet video, the Dancing On Ice pro finalist wrote: ‘We have always tried not to post photos of our children’s beautiful faces to the world of social media, at least until we feel that they were old enough to make their own decisions about being seen or not’.

“The time has come when my daughter wants to get involved and after spending the last few Sundays on the telebox supporting dad, I thought it was good because she is now well and truly seen”.

“It’s something she posted on her (private) Instagram account. I had no idea what she was doing when she said to me… ‘do this with me daddy’ and low and voila this was suddenly appearing on my feed on the gram!!!!’

The proud father added: ‘I really love the fact that she is growing up to be a beautiful young woman, but I wish she would keep her innocence a bit longer.’

Aurelia was spotted supporting Brendan among the skating show’s studio audience, alongside her mother Zoe.

The New Zealand-born star has now reached Sunday’s final alongside Regan Gascogine and Kimberly Wyatt.

Brendan recently revealed to MailOnline that he found his time on Strictly Come Dancing ‘tiring’ as they “pushed the same narrative for 15 series” that he was the “competitive” of the series.

He then praised ITV’s DOI for “showing him in a lovely light”, including more of his fun personality and that he likes to “have fun” with other contestants.

Brendan – who has been criticized on this show for being a professional dancer but says it’s only because “people like to complain” – will face Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and Regan Gascoigne in the next final – who also both a dance experience.
