Sharjah24: The Breastfeeding Friends Association (BFA) of the Department of Health Education of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah concluded the awareness campaign from 1-7 August, on the occasion of World Week Breastfeeding Day 2022, which aims to raise awareness in society about the importance of breastfeeding and its role in improving the physical and psychological health of children and mothers.
The campaign, which saw the participation of 2,000 people, included the organization of 4 virtual and 3 real-life workshops on the benefits of breastfeeding for the health of mothers and children, presented by a group of specialists and health consultants, in addition to providing advice to nursing mothers and pregnant women.
His Excellency Eng. Khawla Abdulaziz Al-Noman, president of the Association of Friends of Breastfeeding, confirmed the association’s concern to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week each year with the World Alliance for the Promotion of Breastfeeding. Breastfeeding (WABA) by initiating quality activities and programs with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of breastfeeding and increasing breastfeeding rates.
